The Office of National Education Inspectorate of the Ministry of Education in China and the Directorate for evaluation, forecast and performance of the French Ministry of Education is organising an international conference bearing the name: “International Conference on educational monitoring and evaluation”. The aim of the conference is to share experience and knowledge in the field of the education system and more especially in the monitoring and the evaluation of these systems.
This conference will be held in Beijing from Monday, 29 November to Wednesday, 1 December 2010.
The growing importance of student assessments and international comparison of education systems entails a need for all countries to develop their cooperation and mutual understanding. |

·Theme1 : The various concept of students assessment
Before going in the implementation of assessments in various countries, it is important to understand what have been and what are the concepts which are "before and behind" the assessments. Four very different countries will be invited to introduce their own concepts of assessments.
·Theme 2 : System and implementation of students assessment
Aimed at sharing various experiences and information on student assessment, the countries which have institutional arrangements, organizational structures and implementation mechanisms for the assessment on basic education quality will be invited to introduce their practical experiences and operational process in this area. In addition, some international organizations will present their specific approach of student assessments.
·Theme 3 : Use of students assessment results
The purpose of conducting students' assessment at national and regional level is to understand the whole picture of basic education quality and be able to inform national or regional education policies with evidence and data. The representative countries will be invited to introduce their experiences in using assessment results to inform education decision-making, influence education polices and improve teaching and learning. The different experiences will provide valuable models for other countries' practice. |
